Heresy: Thou Shan’t Preach Thy Falsehood!

Heresy

  • Heresy; opinion profoundly at odds with what is generally accepted.

Heresy is prevalent in all the cults, some more than others. When found, it is swiftly dealt with, as heresy is the one thing a religious organization fears the most. If enough people sprout the heresy, it can soon catch fire; before they know it, everyone is preaching this falsehood. That is dangerous. So dangerous that sprouting heresy in public is a sure way to a quick yet painful death. Don’t count on a trial, and if your lucky to get a trial… don’t hold out hope for anything but ‘guilty’. That’s assuming your not stoned to death by the public first.

Heresy can come in many forms, even atheism may be considered heretical to the point that if you’re asked whether or not you hold faith to one particular god and your a...

Magnus The Pious: A Scholarly Insight

Magnus_the_Pious

– Magnus von Bildhofen

Magnus von Bildhofen, otherwise fondly known as Magnus the Pious is arguably the greatest Emperor to have ever graced the imperial throne. But what exactly do we know of him?

Before he became famous, Magnus von Bildhofen was a relatively unknown noble part of a prestigious Middenland family who worshiped Ulric. Much of Magnus’s family history remains clouded. What is known is that his father was a devout Ulrican named Josef von Bildhofen. Magnus has a half-brother, Gunthar, whose mother was the second wife of Josef. Magnus was the blacksheep of the family, devoting his time not to Ulric, but to Sigmar. At the time, the Bildhofen family resided in Nuln, rather than in Middenland...

A Storm Is Brewing… Dark Times Ahead…

TBM6fGH

A conspiracy is at play. Hooded figures creep amidst the shadows, continuing with their insidious schemes. A cult that calls itself the Purple Hand is making a move upon the chessboard that is the Empire. Already it has claimed a victory; the removal of Graf Wilhelm von Sapnatheim, and in his place, a powerful ally. It may have claimed many other unseen victories that have yet to bear fruits… Yet it has also suffered a defeat; the loss of the Red Crown cult who served them doppelgangers for some unknown purpose has been wiped off the map.

While indeed a setback for the Purple Hand, it does not mean defeat, and is merely a hitch in a grand conspiracy...

Leaving A Mark Upon The World…

It has been a fun wild journey that has taken over a year. The game started in 2015, in the month of February, and looks to continue onwards with new fresh faces who are eager to die… i mean, experience a world of grim perilous adventure.

While the party is changing, the faces behind those characters remain as the core group of players that consist of Kieran (Kall Horst), Darren (Liliana/Taf/Johann), Ricky (Ulrico), Harbl (Eckhardt/Kaster), Cortez (Durgin, Wilfred) and Adriel (Borri) continue to put up with my awful accents.

It is rather fitting that the end of this party has come at the end of the campaign book. While the campaign is not over, the arc of this particular story is, and it is the perfect time to bring in a new set of faces.

So this blog post will be looking at the rather lar...

It Is The End… My Friends…

And so here we are… After 1 and a half years, (nearly 3 years for the GM now) we have arrived at the penultimate end of our journey. And what a journey it was! This will be a shorter blog than normal in detailing the party’s final moments in Altdorf, but there will be a grand summary detailing the impact the party has had upon the world in the next post.

The party have arrived in Altdorf at mid-day. Everyone is tired, weary from the events of Wittgenstein. Eckhardt/Kaster departs the barge, heading for the Garden of Morr.

Ulrico however has some shocking news to reveal to the party. Eckhardt is dead. Dead as can be. Ulrico had inspected him earlier on when Eckhardt felt particularly unwell, having lost his appetite and seemingly the need to defecate...

The Truth Is Out There…

Truth can hurt as much as any sharpened blade and in some cases, it can even kill a man…

Eckhardt is alone in a cell in Castle Wittgenstein, after volunteering himself to walk in accompanied by Brother Rufus, a corrupt priest of Morr serving darker powers. He succeeded in killing the Baroness in a rather abrupt manner fulfilling the shaky ‘pledge’ that they given to the Palisade agent Dahlia Blackheart. But it was a foolish decision, and Eckhardt is no stranger to those.

He was imprisoned and briefly tortured that resulted in the loss of a thumb and a fingernail. That was the easy part. The worse came when liquefied warpstone was poured into an open wound… Eckhardt’s sanity is put into question when an evil entity takes a hold of his mental capacity...

Into The Murky Depths…

What do you get when a halfling, a dwarf and three men enter the sewers? Trouble, that’s what!

Our brave adventurers endure the foul smelling sludge that’s flowing along beneath the pavements of Wittgendorf as they descend into the sewers. Durgin, Tafwick, Kall Horst, Ulrico and Jean the local physician begin to head south at Jean’s instructions, although Kall has kindly relieved him of his amulet that he said protected him from the ghouls.

It’s dark, it stinks and the party are ever cautious not to slip into the sewage. Durgin is taking the lead as his dwarfen eyes can see better than the rest. It’s just as well, cause Durgin spots some loose stonework up ahead. He tells everyone to be careful with their footing as he crosses successfully...
